Hey there just wondering if any of you guys actually had any experience in the army and how would you compare it to BF2?
I served the PLA for 2 years and am currently living in New Zealand now, it's funny how in BF2 the standard assault rifle for a PLA grunt is an ak47, which was retired almost 30 years ago in the frontline force in reality, but hey again its only a game and AKS really shatter some rocks!!!

Not the Army...but currently in US Air Force.  Some things are similar but not a lot.  Basically, for US military right now, the M16A2 is the weapon of choice with and without the GL.  Both of the types in BF2 are accurate with the 3 round burst or single shot selection.  I think the M24 is the standard issued sniper rifle for snipers in the military (not positive for all branches).  Pretty much all of the special forces have moved to the M-4 (which can also have a GL attached) and I also the AirForce Security Police (Mp's) are using the M-4.  One thing that is off is the F35.  It's supposed to be a pretty sweet jet...not a flying paper weight.  Also, the .50 cal sniper rifle is waaayyyyy off.  Check some videos on YouTube and you'll see that a shot from a .50 cal will literally shred a human body with one shot.  If you shot someone in the foot it would literally tear their body in half from the waste down.

Edit:  Oh yeah.  Also, the UAV is real and in use but is not operated by a "UAV Trailer."  They are actually flown by someone on the ground in a bunker far away from the action, or sometimes even in a different continent.  The UAV's also carry a payload so besides just taking video and relaying the info to someone else, a UAV can actually take out targets.

I would have definitely gone into the navy until the first or the last time I went kayaking I found out how sucky I was in water, capsized over 5 times in one hour that was when I decided not to go into the water again lol

Yeah I could imagine what a .50 really could do to a human body although I've never fired one, we were issued with type-81s which weren't included in this game, basically a heavily modified Ak with a lot better accuracy and faster rate of fire, getting shot by a 7.62 was already bad enough from what I've seen.

I was not in the army.. I didn't have to go for some time because of university.. then I just left my country and moved to the UK
I was a very good material for a soldier I think -- martial arts (first aikido 3yrs.. then jujitsu 1yr.. then brazilian jujitsu and muay thai 3yrs), paragliding for over 10 years.. skydiving for 8 years.. All nice except I don't like to take orders from anyone
