hi!

im thinking about buying a notebook / laptop. however, im not sure if the processor of the model i wanna buy is good or not.

Its an AMd Turion 64 Mobile ML44 2,4 GHz 800 MHz FSB 1MB L2 cache

can anyone tell if that is a good CPU and if it will be able to power future games too?

You can get a laptop, sure, but get a desktop computer if you wanna play the games coming out in the future. There's just sumthing about laptops and games that I don't think works out.

Evaluate your own needs, and take it from there.

I own a laptop, but I didnt buy it just to play bf2. My needs drove me to get what I needed to get the job done, luckily, it can handle bf2.

For general use and gaming: any dual core ( amd or intel ) will do. The higher the processor frequency the better( aim over 2ghz). 1gb of ram at least, and regarding video, what ever card you want.

For any specific use, ( in my case, CAD crap ), pretty much the same as above, but I went tech with the video card. Instead of a "normal" card, got a workstation card, it does work for the games, but its aimed at other things.


That is my experience / suggestion.
