Sometime ago i renamed the movie files, EG (DICE.BIX) to (DICE.BIXX) added an extra x, i did this just so i got no movies in the start up, apparently game runs smother well it did in bf2..... ANYWAYS back to the point, when i did this i noticed that i was not getting my career updates, and score.. so i changed it back to default... now the question i am asking is------ was it due to me re-naming the files
                                               OR- was it due to the servers having update probs

Normally on a up-date there is a delay, and i would get my points and PINS and such at some time.... but when the files wer changed i didn't get them at all, even tho they showed up in game

I renamed mine awhile ago to Dice.Bik, and I was having no problems with my stats not updating. Probably just a server error.

I took my movies out altogether, no problems here but the usual stuff. It's the server since updating info has nothing to do with what's on your computer

i just rename the file to "Movies2" and forget about it

I renamed after few short days and still managed to get points, so you must have played on a non ranked server.

Can someone post how to do this? I did it to my BF2, but was following someone's instructions and forgot how to do it. I'd like to disable the movies in my BF2142.

Go to C:/Program Files/ Electronic Arts/ Battlefield2142/ Mods/ bf2142/ movies. Rename the movie folder or each one of the files you have in that movie folder. Thats it, easy. If it's not C: then it's in whatever partition you installed your game in.

If you get modified content just restart your computer and it will be fixed.

Like everyone else has stated, renaming the movie files will not affect your ability to get points from ranked servers.

Every round of 2142 I have ever played has been with modified movie file names, and I have plenty of stats.
