We seen its capabilities, weaknesses and its strengths ok just EA coding. Now the real F-35 takes to the sky, weather permitting, next week, about 15 miles from my house!

yea. actually its been in testing for years now. Go to google vids and they have LOTS of them of the real thing in flight. EA's version if completely false. only Land can be performed by thrusters NOT TAKE offs. although the F-35B take off is considerably shorter than the F-35A. (due to its ability to angle thrusters and provide the most lift)

Actually it's meant to replace the harrier, the f-18 and the f-16.

I'm not a pilot, but I am a Marine and my understanding was that it is there to take over the roll of the Harrier which specifically means that it has to be able to take off and land in a vertical manner because of the environment that our pilots fly.

Yes, that is what it must be able to do, take off and land vertically. Atleast the History Channel told me so...
