That weapon has been copied through bf2 though. Go download PoE2 and youll see.

The pilum is just a futuristic Anti-Material Rifle. However, unlike modern AT weapons, the Pilum probably uses a magnetic acceleration design.

The Pilum projectile is pretty slow for a coil/railgun.
Its because the Pilum is so powerful. If they made it as fast as the MK-S8, it would be ungodly unbalanced. Plus, you'd be able to hit planes with it.
