I've been playing the demo for awhile now, and I'm getting the full game at xmas. Can somebody please reassure me that it is better than the demo?

I've only been playing for 2 days and I've noticed at least 5 glitches.
Everything is so weak. You can blow up anything with a few shots.
Helos take no skill at all to fly.
You barely run into your teammate with an APC/Tank and you get punished for a teamkill.
The Titans are very glitchy.
The guns aren't very good. I think the only good one is the SCAR 11 and both support guns. I bet the unlocks are better.
You can't sprint very far without running outta breath. Who trained these tubs of lard?
Players die too easily.

IMO, BF2 is much better than 2142. Does the 2142 patch make it any better?

It's better, enjoy the full game after Christmas. The unlocks are better and for sprinting there are 2 player abilities that give your soldier longer sprint and faster sprint recharge. BF2 does not even compare to 2142. The squad teamwork is so much better in 2142 and the point system is designed to reward teamwork, not just kills. See you on the battlefield after Christmas!

Not so, Tanks and Walkers are VERY strong from the front, and very weak in there weak spots. And good luck actually HITTING the Nekomata.

Which EXACTLY like in BF2 when you barely run into a guy with an APC or Tank and TK them....Punish is based on the player, not the game.

Well duh, its a giant model that has to account for everything on it in relation to the map. You lucky its not glitchier. Besides, they fixed a few of the worst glitches so its much more manageable.

The guns are awesome, the basic principle is that they become more accurate the longer you fire in full auto mode. The Support Guns ROCK over long ranges.

Its designed to incorperate the sprint unlocks. Besides, your used to IO BF2, which has increased sprint.

Yeah, patches help a lot. But its still a fun game IMHO. More balanced.

Reasons why it's worth getting:

- Global points and Career points aren't the same
- Knifing is 1337
- Many unlocks, and they're good
- Squad playing is improved
- Vehicles aren't that dominating
- Many awards

Six and half a dozen, 2142 is just an expensive mod of bf2 tbh, both games had there more than fair share of bug's etc, the battlefield n00b comunity on both game's is always there in force, for better or worse, gota take the good with the bad. Thing's like punished tk's etc are just the luck of who you tk, I to get pissed off with it, but at the end of the day, if you hadnt tk'd you would have nothing to moan about, regardless if it was intentional or not. Vehicle whore's can run the game to begin wtih, but as soon as the sheild's go down (on titan mode anyway) it becomes a total infantry battle which is absolutley kick ass! Bar the monumental lag issue's with Titan but 'meh'. You don't score as much as you did on bf2, but with all the thing's in place to reward awards (8-)) then it makes going for them satasfying and fun!

Much more rounded game I feel, still has plenty issue's but it is indeed an improvement on bf2, just not the major step forward some people expected. DX10 Battlefield games for teh absolute win will rock! Till then see you in 2142 soldier

i think its great at the start was still the big BF2 head but since playing this havent picked up BF2 in ages, at the start i did have my doubt but once you get into the kit it great as there is so much to do with each kit and a hell of a lot of fun, also why do you care it not like you are having to buy the game your getting it for a present and i dare say you will get your moneys worth no probs

Depends on how you look at it. BF2142 incorperates new thing BF2 did not (such as improved squad incentives). Most people complain that its not as good as a game thats been out for a year and a half and has had multiple updates(IE BF2). Honestly I enjoy both, but prefer 2142 do to its more "scifi" feel. Yes things are still glitchy and buggy, but Ive never once played a game without some sort of bugs or glitches present in some aspect.

The demo in my opinion was better then full, just for the fact I could play Titan mode with no lag , never have figured out why. Most people will tell you not to get it becasue of bugs and glitches, if you dont mind playing laggy titan, or not playing it all, the bugs and glitches dont really affect the gameplay. All they really effect is peoples ego(IE stat padding glitches). Suddenly a game is crap becasue your not the best, grow up.

All in all its a fun game, not yet on the level with BF2 on fixes and things, however its a fresh experince, introduces some new ideas to the BF series, and is just more fun to jump into a random squad and start blasting. From my personal experinces its no longer the old formula of grab some armor and camp a spawn for 30 minutes. That being said im sure my opinion is wrong in many peoples view, so take what you will.

IMO, BF2142 > BF2. my only complaint towards 2142 is the lag in Titan mode. I find it much more equal and balanced than BF2 has ever been. and towards planes, GOOD RIDDANCE!

EDIT: i agree with you r2zoo. and i'm also confused as to why titan mode in the demo is not laggy but it's horrible in the full version.

oh and the reason you run out of stamina so fast is because you're lugging around heavy armor. in the full version you can choose to take off the heavy armor which increases the length of your sprint ability (i'm not sure if you can do that in the demo).

2142 is a good game. I wish they could do a major update to BF2 to incoperate some of the things they did for 2142..like buddy lists and stuff.

Anywho, the demo does suck ass. I played the beta and was waiting for the demo for a long time but since it lacked upgrades and (i guess) its a few patches behind, it did/does in fact suck. The real game is well worth it.

BF2 > 2142 at just about every single thing, except map design. Everything about is made so that noobs have a better chance against someone that is better. I haven't noticed any difference in teamwork between the games, other than the game unnecessarily rewards squads. If you are in a good squad, that should be reward enough.

BF2142 is more fun you don't have a chinese jet raping the map, there's no helis killing everything...grenades aren't as big of a deal....

Harder isnt exactly better or more fun. I loved flying helicopters in BF2 but when I wasnt in the heli and the enemy one was raping my team, I didnt have fun. Why would I?

Granted, the gunship is a let down because its so easy that you can't do anythign complicated with it..but its still fun and when you have a good gunner its even more fun.

It's not made so that noobs have a chance against someone that's better..its balanced.

i'm a veteran of almost every popular FPS. CS, CoD, all the battlefields, name it. and BF2 was the most unbalanced and unequal of them all i have to say.

Its simple to understand why titan mode lag more in full version. There are more stuff for the server to keep an eye on, all the grenades, C4, sentry turrets, defence shield and all the new different weapons for the server to count in to.

Tanks dies in 2 shots from a rocket, chopper goes down in one tank shell plus some shooting with secondary, boats only goes for one in BF2. It all depends on where you shoot at it. Second Learn to aim with the guns, I don't know how many times the enemy have just instantly killed me in less than 5 bullets. Sure everyone can fly those gunships but being able to handle the missiles and the TV missiles take skill now. Nothing is invicible anymore, no jets that can just do a bomb and be able to escape with no problem. No instant heal for infantry or instant ammo from support for those nade spamming people.

BF2S Forums 2142 isn't very good at all.
