The F-14 has been gone for a long time, how many F-14 tribute threads do we need? The thing was a money eating piece of shit, who's sole role in the Navy nearly all but died with the end of the cold war.
Technology improves. Better equipment is made. The newer, younger generation always defeats the older in the long run. The F-18 was the younger guy, the F-14 couldn't keep up, get over it. It's a fucking plane, who the hell cares?

And old but nice plane.
I don't know if it was used for any other missions after that one, but I remember that it was deployed for the first gulf war.
The F18 was the replacement, and now the F18 is having his with the F22 and the F35.

Yes it was, I´m not sure if any other US aircraft has "special" missiles just for that plane. The F-14 had phoenix missiles, and they only fit the f14. Not very practical. The thing was a money eating piece of ...
That looked very nice, but there is probably a valid reason for it being retired by everyone except Iran.
Anyways you can go to www.patricksaviation.com for many more pictures of airplanes...
