  • How long can you keep a server/PC running efficiently?
misconfiguration

This is my Fedora box, hosted in Texas. I run a website http://theindy.net.

So far my up time has been 184 days with no performance issues ( I love *NIX).

The max I've had a windows box was a dual -MP DNS server, the time on that was 40 days before it started to leak.

Any tech ppl here that could dispute?

I was just wondering this, I have a really old Sony VAIO that I want to use as a TS server.  Maybe just set it up in the basement, hook it up, etc.?  What do you think?

Hook it up man, my TS server is;
Slackware 10.3
233mhz p2
512mb of RAM
4x500gb hdd's RAID-1 (can't handle on-the-fly redundancy checks)
This machine is also my media server (samba)
Also my router.

That machine will run it fine, I've never used the windows TS server before, but the linux one can be setup with novice experience.

Hit me up on xfire if you need any help!
