^QFT - either buy a new laptop and make sure it has dedicated graphics first or buy a desktop with dedicated graphics
Crank it down to 800x600 and see it if works. If by some miracle it actually starts then do into the settings and ramp everything down to the lowest setting. But what gave you the impression it has all the requirements?
----- EDIT ----
Try downloading and installing this:
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/df-supp … xp1425.exe
It's the latest drivers for your graphics card. Althought it says not to use it if your card is third party so caveat voctor.

Same thing on my BF2. Crappy graphics card, nothing else.
Wait.
Since when did Intel started making graphics accelerators that do not suck?
All of their "Intel Graphics Accelerator" things are just fucking joke.
BTW, I play BF2142 (and BF2) ONLY on my laptop (as I do not have desktop box at all). Runs perfectly fine on low/medium settings.
Specs if you are interested:
- Dell Inspiron 6400
- Intel Code Duo T2500 2.0 GHz
- 2048 MB RAM
- Graphics: PCI-E ATI X1400 256MB
- 120 GB HDD
- Cheapass integrated audio/lan.
Recently switched to Windows Vista - this reduces loading times greatly (but it seems like FPS are reduced a little bit, waiting for new drivers).

your graphics card just cant handle it. only way you can is by buying a new pc. laptop video cards are non upgradeable. if you want to run bf2/2142 you are going to want at least a x1400mobility or a go7300, but if you can afford it x1600mobility or a go7600 should be the minimum you aim at
never. the intel GMA 900 in my old lappy even struggled on shadows in xp[RU]Grmbl wrote:

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
