I'm a computarded individual, and I require BF2s' help on this.
I have no idea how to see if my motherboard supports a 6800 or not...Anyone know how to check?

If your motherboard supports AGP then it should support that card.  Tell us your motherboard, and that will help us out.

Lol, Psp, asking, help.  The card you're looking at is actually a 6800.  What card are you upgrading from?  6800s are loooooooooooooooow-end nowadays.  And back on topic, tell us the motherboard model or give a picture.

Really? They are? Well shit. And I've got a 9550 ATi, got any good AGP cards? I don't have PCI-E
And I don't know what kinda board it is! One of the questions was asking if I could find out.

I have a XFX 7600GS right now.  AGP model.  It's decent, although my old 6800 performed only slightly worse.

OLD one eh...Do you still have it by chance?

ALSO: I'm looking at paying for a computer by month...This came out to 2,002$ and 61$ a month...Is it worth it?

I sold it to a friend, but he's getting a new one, so I might be able to buy it back as a backup card.

It would probably be $1,500 if you built it yourself.  I don't know about the processor though, Intels are queer.

that card comes in both PCI-E and AGP.. so either way it is supported, you just have to check and make sure you get the right one. Easiest way (short of looking online for mobo/computer specs) to tell which you have is pop the side open and look at your video card slot

if it is black, has a release button at the end it is probably PCI-E, if it is brown/green/purple/almost any other color other than black/white and is almost the same size as the white pci slots, you have AGP, and if all you have is white slots you are SOL

For AGP, 8x, go with an ATI x850. its awesome for price. i run high on all games. 60 fps on bf2.

you can go to start>run>dxdiag....If anywhere it says pci e or pci it should be able for a pci 6800 or agp if it says agp

My understanding is that ATI is making a version of the X1950 that is AGP compatible.......I believe it's the X1950 Pro.  In terms of AGP vid cars......that'd probably be the best you could hope for (even though I'm totally Nvidia biased these days).

But seriously dude.......what are you doing with AGP?  PCI-E mobos are super cheap these days.  My last AGP card was an ATI 9800 Pro, which AT THE TIME was the poo.......but is now a relic of the past.  Since then, I've had many cards, ALL nvidia and ALL PCI-E x16.  I've had 6600gt, 6800gt, 7800gt, 7900gt, and 7900gtx.  I didn't even realize that there were still people trying to game with AGP mobos.

The thing is...I'm kinda short in the cash department, and since I don't have a job my mom is funding this...Sooo it's gotta be cheap, and I don't even know if she'll spring for this.

Oh....yeah.....well, as long as mom's are in the picture.....you're fucked.  Unless of course they are total pushovers that'll buy their little bitch children whatever they want, which in turn means they are piss poor mothers..........so........I dunno.....pick what's most important to you: parents that are worthy of the title, or "things."

Of course, as long as you are actually relying on parents, you will never appreciate them or what they do for you (as that seems a natural part of existence), so your judgment on this issue is inevitably suspect.

I've got an C2Duo 6400, and it runs fine.  You don't even need a 6600.

I got the exact same card as you, ati 9550, decent, but 20fps on all low with geometry on medium pisses me off. I'm looking at either a 7600GS, and if not that, x1600 to last me till the end of January. The 6800 should do u fine though, my friend's got one, he plays all high, effects on medium i think, and 4x AA for a solid 60+ fps, (with a p4 @ 3.2 aswell).
