It is the other runway in BF1942. The plane was parked where the heli is now and you take off from there. I believe that the other plane was on the opposite end of the runway that it is now.

its the effects of 40 + years on the airfield, this is Wake 2007, and thats some of the remains, hence the crash Zero's

Also if you looked at the real pictures of Wake Island, that is where the runway actually was. Maybe they coded it there first, and then decided against it for some reason.

No it doesnt, the runway goes from the airfield, to South Base, heading in a Westerly direction.

Right, no I believe you. Was just going off memory and I knew that there was another runway that went towards south. My fault.

The only real purpose it would serve is if you had to land, which nobody in this game does anyway. To be honest I dont think I have ever seen anybody land a jet once they got in it.
I know once in a while if I need repairs bad enough I'll do it and drive up to the hanger with it.

Yep, that's an old BF1942 runway. The SBD takeoff runway if I remember correctly.
