I have an ATI x700 and it runs BF2 fine, why waste all this extra money just so the graphics could change, but the gameplay doesn't?
I RMAed my card a week ago...still waiting for it to ship to evga's RMA office....
lol evga. Have fun rma stuff back and forth to them. Get a real brand like BFG.PBAsydney wrote:

Buy a 7900 or a 7600..
My Friend has a 7600 and it runs BF2 all high with max Resolution without any lag issues..
I'm getting a new computer for x-mas and I'm gonna get a 7900..

Will have my Nvidia 8800GTX system by January.....hopefully.
I wouldn't mind the 8800GTX(Will have one soon ) But atm i'm running a AX800XT and it runs perfectly.
im probably going to get one in may for my birthday...i just wanted to be able to record a fucking video for once. which is why i'm going with something high-end.LolSauce wrote:

Edit: for XMAS. . 7900 got my vote. too early to really waste money on an 8800. better to wait a few months for better cards.

I'm getting a PCI-E motherboard and XGA 7600GT for christmas, upgrading from BFG 6600GT (AGP). It runs everything pretty good on medium, some FPS lag at times, but not much. I'm hoping to run everything on high with 2GB RAM and an Athlon 3500+.
My asus 7600GT runs everything on high. If you arent looking for anything too expensive, grab one of these babies and you'll be set.
there, fixed ur mistake.ShadowFoX wrote:

Ok then. How do I check fps in bf2?
In-game, bring up the console by pressing the ` key (to the left of the #1 key).
Type in renderer.drawfps 1 This will place an overlay showing you your FPS in the top left corner of the play screen To disable this, type renderer.drawfps 0

Thank you.
XFX and eVga are both suck. While some people might stand by these brands its because they never had a BFG.Des.Kmal wrote:

fuck evga AND bfg, evga blows and i know, had an experience at my old work, they dont replace "fried" cards that overheated, like a faulty fan or heatsink, and the RMA took like 302348824 weeks.ShadowFoX wrote:

XFX is the only brand i will ever use now. always the best fans and heatsinks, and look the best too. had to RMA a 7900gt a few weeks ago, about a month, and was back in like 3-4 days. amazing
never had a bfg, so i cant comment.

eVga puts in cheap parts in their stuff. While they claim to have awesome clock speeds on the pre over clocked stuff most of it doesnt last too long. BFG pre overclocked stuff comes in with low temperatures and most BFG cards you can even overclock further from their pre overclocked status.Des.Kmal wrote:

I have owned BFG, XFX and EVGA. I like them all. I have even had good experiences with Gigabyte and Asus graphics cards.
For something to be good, does everything else have to suck?

ASUS is good for motherboards. They also make good video cards however I dont think they make any pre-oced models.
I bought an eVga 7800GT around Thanksgiving last year for my BF2 system, it works very well.
