Help! please

OK my computer youste to run 2142, but i got a virus which killed my computer so i have started from fresh so i have gone round re-installing everything once again. My battlefield 2 works fine, basically everything else i have installed works fine just bf2142 does not. What happens is i try load the game it loads the walker and then goes black screen as if it is to load one of the loading movies, at which this time it crashes back to desktop almost instantly. i can not find a solution i would be most grateful for some help please.

What screen resolution and frequency are you running windows at? Apparently if windows is running at anything other than the default 60Hz BF2142 won't start up, it could be that.

did you reinstall all the current drivers for your vid card?

Not a clue then pal. It could be something to do with your config files for BF2142. I assume you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Yes ive re-installed the latest driver's my card is a 9800 xt and yes i have re-installed like 7 times. ive sorta given up now

Have you tried manually uninstalling BF2142, removing all the registry entries and everything? I know there is a tutorial on how to do that on here somewhere.

I had a problem like this with the demo and I had to update a direct x file or something (cant remember exactly what it was) but it sounds like exactly the same problem I had, there was a post on here somewhere about it.

Well, I had the same / similar problem today. My game crashed just a few seconds after I joined a server.
The solution that worked for me was the same as for a problem with VoIP in BF2.

Btw, I updated my directX this morning, so the setting was reseted to Full Acceleration and BF2142 stopped working...
