Guys - I have a dilemma
Here's the rundown:

I have a computer downstairs in the middle of my home - Next to it is a NETGEAR Wireless hub - connecting 4mb broadband through into the computer. This computer has 2142 on and is used by my brother and me.

Upstairs in my room, i have a brand new computer - awaiting to get 2142 on the 25th to install and play along side my brother (on the one downstairs) and you guys (by playing on my new one.)
This computer has a Wireless connection to the NETGEAR one next to the computer downstairs so therefore both can receive Internet.

Problem - When i am on upstairs (either on BF2 or just IE/Firefox), Downstairs (my brother on 2142) Gets VERY, repeated VERY jerky game. Not laggy, Jerky! Basically the "There is a problem with your connection type of jerky" but without the line " There is a problem blah blah blah.."

But if the computer downstairs is Off - And I'm on upstairs on BF2, i get "There is a problem with your connection" message and the major jerky issue. (obviously lasts for 10 seconds then goes back to game) but still unplayable.
And of course there is no way in hell that we can both play at the same time...

Does anyone have 2 computers linked via wireless router, Does anyone even use a wireless router?

Also, It is not the Speed being a problem- we have fast enough speed, it's just the Connection there is a problem with...

Help would be appreciated!

it's bf2142. stick with 2.

in all seriousness, you are losing your connection for seconds probably and then re-connecting.. it happens to me all the time, it's just something I've learnt to deal with.

More like losing it for 10 seconds mabye 20, and inbetween you get around 15 seconds of gameplay
You can't Deal with it it's unplayable!!
Any other help is more than welcome.

I use a wireless router. I have my PC plugged in through a cable though. It could be an issue with fair queuing within your router. Some routers do really flop when it comes to traffic management.

There are more things it could be though. If you are connected wirelessly make sure there's no sort of interference and make sure your signal is consistently strong. You could try testing it a bit, run netstumbler for a few hours and see what you SNR is.

"Get a wired connection" is the simple answer.  I've experienced this before, look at how happy I am when I got wired a few days ago: http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?pi … 3#p1062653

Or you can use a Pringles can and some wire.

Cracking the neighbours WEP key'll probably take a few weeks of packet sniffing first though.

So far im going with the idea of a "Signal Booster" So thanks for all the ideas - keep them coming because if the booster doesn't work. Will need more assistance!

Mine was the same. To be honest wireless is shite for gaming. I had the "There is a problem with your connection" every 30 seconds most of the time. I just plugged an RJ45 in and it was resolved. Just do the same.
