Ok, here's my problem. Battlefield seems to be running just fine, my Ping is decent, never higher than 100, and my computer is built well enough to play the game. Why is it that when the voice of the commander pops in, everything slows down. His voice seems to be jittery, as if effected by lag or something. For example, "Artillery, your area", sounds like "Arrrrttt...illl..errrrr...rreeeee....yooouuurrrrr...aaa...rreeee.aaaaaa." This even comes up in single player mode, so Im pretty sure that it's not online-related. I attempted to search for this but, Im not quite sure what to call it.

- Voice Lag (for lack of anything better to call it.)
Use software audio instead of hardware - this is a common problem due to the elite audio hardware support BF2 has.
If you have a soundcard then use Hardware. Try the sounds at lower then medium over time and see if there is any lag difference. If you have an on board audio decorder on your motherboard then I suggest using Software and never hardware. Once again fiddle with the low/medium/high settings until you get what you want without performance decrease.

Yup, it was the hardware/software problem. Odd though, I do remember switching it back to software after I took out my SoundBlaster card. Meh, whatever. Thanks for the help.
I thought this post was going to be about VOIP...
No lag here, only a little from VOIP. It was great, one time a squad member said ''Fuck'' over VOIP right when my game lagged. All I heard was the word ''Fuck'' being repeated for 5 minutes. Until I turned my speakers off.

HAHA!!! The same happened to me, but at the end of a round and right when it is starting to load to another map.
It was an English guy from Leeds and I found his accent pretty funny.
I had to unplug my headphones and just hear it on my speakers for about a minute or so while the map loaded and verified.
Now back to my 11% alcohol beer...
