Okay so i have so problem at home, parents dont want me to play BF2 anymore so they keep removing it from the PC.

Im sick and tired of re installing and re patching each time.

If i burn the main folder, wich is C:/Programfiles/EAGAMES/battlefield2 and each time i just put the cd in my pc and take the folder from the cd and put it into my pc. Would i be able to play or i will miss some folders??????

If this will not work what to do without always reinstalling ???

So you're saying, you want to burn off your BF2 folder to a DVD (its over 4GB IIRC), and dump it to the hdd when you're parents aren't around?

Yes. Time consuming, but yes.

This however won't help if they Uninstall it from the computer. If you remove all the shortcuts from the Start Menu and such and show them an 'empty' BF2 folder, they will assume its not on the computer and won't uninstall it.

The key here is Registry. When you install the game it puts stuff in the Windows Registry. When you uninstall it removes it. If you just remove the folder off C:\, the registry isn't touched so Windows thinks its still installed. All you have to do is put the folder back.

Can't you just put a password on ur profile? or limit them from un-installing stuff?

what is wrong with playing BF2? you smash up ur mouse or something?

this is a good thing..... If they Uninstall it from Add or remove folders in the control panel, then i do a System restore to today lets say it will not work ?

I dont think so cuz i just did that i made a system restore to yesterday because they uninstall it 2day and when i put the Bf2 cd the big shit comes out in the midel of my screen the screen turn black and it close.... Mission folders in the Windows Registery as you was saying ?

Do you have XP Pro? Because you can change a group policy to prevent them from loading add remove programs.. ooh better yet. Get Tweak UI from Microsoft and hide the Add/Remove Programs thinger from Control Panel (They can't uninstall it if they can't get to it )

Heres another Option, If you have the Money go and buy a Smartdisk HD and install it there and ALL files that go with it and then show your parents that it is not installed on thier CPU, then all you have to do is plug in the HD through the USB port and PLAY AWAY all its doing is running off a Different HD

They Come in different Capacity too depending on how much you want to spend, I think I paid 125 for a 40 GIG....

The other thing that makes a SMARTDISK great its PORTABLE so you can play on your friends CPU to

So i get off the mark on appwiz.cpl - Shell Application Manager and the add removre program will be gone .....

But then do i remove tweak UI ???? because they will have acces to that program 2 ....

Navigate to C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\
and delete - get this -
uninstall.exe
