Help with unlocks. (General question)

Question: If i install the SF expansion, and say i rank up while it is installed. When the unlock window comes up, would it have the unlocks for both vanilla bf2 and SF? Thanks in advance

2nd question: which do you think is a better unlock choice for support: the MG36 (SF) or the PKM. What are some pros and cons for each?

So..

1. Yes, if you install SF, you will get 2 unlocks per promotion. You will also receive retroactively unlock opportunities from past promotions. YAY!

2. I love the MG36 myself, although I still don't have it unlocked. I've tried it nevertheless. You need to unlock the PKM before you have access to unlocking the MG36. That's how it goes for every unlock. You gain access to SF-unlocks after you have chosen the vanilla unlock for the kit in question

If you have already recieved say 3 unlocks, then you install and play SF, you will get those another 3 unlocks to use.

I whole-heartedly agree.

but its hard not to annoy/flame/derail threads that have people talking in l33t. this is probably the first post I've seen from someone new to the forum that wasn't: "ZomG!!!onetwothreeLOAZi iz gots a prollem wif my GaameZ"

just goes to show what happens when you don't post in l33t.

You're absolutely right DonFck, this is completely wrong. It should be more like

3. Reply, making fun of spelling/typo

lol..ok im back. Ive installed SF. So i logged onto my existing account, which is like a couple hundred points from staff sergeant. but when i log onto SF, i am a private. so im guessing the two games have seperate accounts? but shouldnt another 3 unlocks for the 3 i already have?

That shouldn't be the case....and that is a new problem to me. Are you sure that you used the same account when you logged onto SF? It should be a smooth & flawless transition...the moment you log into SF for the first time you should get several unlocks. Try logging out of the game completely and then re-logging into special forces. Make sure that you are retreiving your old account.

You have to play a few rounds for the EA master server to recognise that you have SF.

As for the private thing, it's a rampant bug that hits a lot of people. you'll be fine
