Here's the rundown:
I have a computer downstairs in the middle of my home - Next to it is a NETGEAR Wireless hub - connecting 4mb broadband through into the computer. This computer has 2142 on and is used by my brother and me.
Upstairs in my room, i have a brand new computer - awaiting to get 2142 on the 25th to install and play along side my brother (on the one downstairs) and you guys (by playing on my new one.)
This computer has a Wireless connection to the NETGEAR one next to the computer downstairs so therefore both can receive Internet.
Problem - When i am on upstairs (either on BF2 or just IE/Firefox), Downstairs (my brother on 2142) Gets VERY, repeated VERY jerky game. Not laggy, Jerky! Basically the "There is a problem with your connection type of jerky" but without the line " There is a problem blah blah blah.."
But if the computer downstairs is Off - And I'm on upstairs on BF2, i get "There is a problem with your connection" message and the major jerky issue. (obviously lasts for 10 seconds then goes back to game) but still unplayable.
And of course there is no way in hell that we can both play at the same time...
Does anyone have 2 computers linked via wireless router, Does anyone even use a wireless router?
Also, It is not the Speed being a problem- we have fast enough speed, it's just the Connection there is a problem with...
Help would be appreciated!

Firstly, is your brother's PC connected to the router with a cable or Wireless? How far away is your PC? What is the signal strength?
And that computer (brother's) is connected wireless not ethernet. - Going for signal booster atm.
connect your brothers PC to the router with a LAN cable and see if that helps. If not, go for a signal booster as well, but make shure it is compatible with the router you already have!
1 comp on cable + 1 wireless is better than 2 wireless (for both PCs)

It doesnt matter if one computer is connected with cable! I have exactly the same problem at my parents house. My computer is upstairs ca. 10 meters away from the router. Although I have a excellent connection, mostly, I get those messages every 10-15 seconds. My sisters comp. and my dads comps. are connected via LAN. I doesnt even matter if they are on or off.

Yet again - tvm for the help guys hopefully will get booster this weekend. In the mean time im on 2142 on original comp, and single players on new one...
Since Christmas is next Tuesday i will be getting 2142 for that + Obviously this weekend i'll have booster so..

just get yourself some cables and wire your computer up to the router rather than wireless. Wireless sucks!

You could copy it and crack the protection and than play Single PLayer only
You could also play multi but not at the same time. One would have to disconnect for other to connect.

I ve got an idea, just get some wires. I hate wireless cause it sucks for gaming. Its not dependable enough imo. On my rig, everything is wired. Copper>air.Sl4y3r wrote:

Just not at the same time. You cant connect to EA master server with 2 computers with the same CD key at the same time.
But you could play Singe PLayer and Co-Op I believe.

cracking it would let you play without using the DVD, but you don't realy need that.

holly crap you should be able to do it.
Does it say "CD key in use when you want ot install it or play it (log in) ?
If its when you try to play it than make sure you are using the SAME accaunt as on your first computer.
If it says it when you want to install it than try disconnecting from the net before installing....
