Before I start, yes I have read the stickies and searched yet nothing seems to help me.

I have a desktop mic (yes I know it sucks but I had a gift card to Amazon and couldn't afford anything else with the left over money from the gift card) and it doesn't seem to work with bf2/2142 voip. Windows recognizes it and when I do a windows test it picks up my voice.

The mic is a Logitech USB desktop mic. People tell me that they can see that I am trying to talk with voip but no sound ever comes out.

I'll post a SS later of what my settings look like.

So, any ideas?

Checked your in game bf2/2142 setting's?

If not that then control panel/sound speech and audio devices/sound and audio devices
and go from there :\.

If that doesnt sort it come back and we can explore it further but I would expect it's something that I mentioned up there.

Yep the ingame settings have it checked in and my computer recognizes the mic.

Is the mic set to full?

Does it work in other applications like teamspeak? And/or other games?

at the lan cafe i play aty we have i think the same problem.. i cant hear voip nor can i use it

people talk to me (but i cant hear them or see the green light with der name at the bottom)

apparently its a port problem

Nah I can hear people talking to me, it's just that I can't talk to them. When you say is the mic set to full, what exactly do you mean? Also, iv never tried it with vent/teamspeak

Well might I suggest you do mate? Since if it doesnt work there then it must be faulty........ Also I just mean the input/output volume set to max (or nearly).

Yeah but it does work. Just not with bf2/2142. It works with reguler recording programs with windows.

Isn't this the whole BF2 won't see the second sound card (which is what the mic is, as its usb)? In that case, I don't think it will ever work. You know, because BF2 is awesome.

It will work. i had the exact same problem earlier, but i managed to fix it by editing my microphone settings. I'm looking for solution now.
