I had a pavilion notebook and wanted to change the ram but it didn't work so I guess it won't in yours either.
My HP Pavilion 750n works fine with upgrades.
have a zv6000 and the only thing you can upgrade is the memory. went from 512 to 2gb
As long as HP hasn't turned homo (like Dell) then it will work fine with upgrades.
Provided that you have an AGP or PCI-e x16 slot, your motherboard can handle a RAM and/or CPU upgrade, and your motherboard uses a standard ATX connection....then you can upgrade all you want.

I tried upgrading a Dell once - didnt work, no surprise given Dell are sh*t stabbers
