Hey Buck, this is Storm from the original tfs. Did you run hijack this as well as adaware?

Get Hijackthis here http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3000 … 79544.html . Save the log when you run it and copy and paste it here http://hjt.networktechs.com/ to see what kind of results you get.

Are you getting it confused with explore.exe?  This is the program that allows you to browse files on your computer in XP.  Sometimes it may take a little bit of time to shut down the process properly.

How long does it take to close, if it closes at all.  What version of Explorer are you using?  If I think that IE7 may have this as background proces in order to have the application start quicker, but I maybe wrong on that.

Also, as everyone will say here Google it, it seems that there maybe a trojan that also has the same name.

Hope not, but explorer will restart on its own.

Well AVG didnt seem to take it away.

The exact process name is 1EXPLORE.EXE, there are 2 of them.

Your screwed, as far as I know, you cant remove it.
I had it a year back, and no one knew how to remove it, nothing removes from what I know also.
Good luck

Have you tried all 3? S&D, AdAware, AVG?

Is it listed in HijackThis?

CA reckons you have this. Kaspersky is the only one listed that has an Online Virus Scanner, which reckons it'll remove it. Alternatively you could get the AOL Active Virus Shield which is free and is just a rebadged Kaspersky, even gets the same updates.

If you have IEXPLORE.EXE

Then here is how you remove the trojan:

well it sounds like Olitz has an actual virus. best way to fix that is to turn off sys restore, go into safe mode, delete the files and then run virus scans.

but for me, iexplore.exe just stays open no matter how many instances.

IE is not open in the taskbar, and will load a new instance everytime i click on it
