Correct
www.slizone.com has a lot of information on SLi.

You need at least a 6600 to run in SLi, and you need the same card, and at the same clocks.

Both card have to be the from the same manufacturer, same clock speed, same model, same memory interface (at least thats what NVIDIA states).  You cannot have more than 1 GPU running in a system with the exception of SLI and CROSSFIRE systems, which is allowed due to the northbridge and southbridge chipset.  Sorry to burst your bubble but it is NOT possible and you cannot SLI as they need to be at least (2) 6600GTs at bare minimum, and the motherboard has to support it with (2) PCIE slots, you cannot run SLI w/AGP!!!

Doesnt the faster clock also underclock it's self to the speed of the lesser card?  Least that is what I have been led to believe.

Since driver version 80, they only have to be the same type, you can mix brands, memory sizes, clock speeds etc:

With the new "Release 80" driver, NVIDIA takes SLI to an entirely new level. First of all, gamers can use graphics cards in SLI mode with different clock speeds, different BIOS settings, different input/output configurations, different memory sizes and from different manufacturers. That means that our friends Nick and Jeff can buy any graphics card they want, as long as it's the same model as their current graphics card (GeForce 7800 GTX for Nick, and GeForce 6800 GT for Jeff). How's THAT for flexibility?

My 7800 GSOC Overclocked and my 1.5 Gb of RAM is letting me play BF2 the way its meant to be played!
