BF2S Forums Why must I buy SF if I dont wanna?

But it's not like unskilled players shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the game. I hate how EA is forcing people to buy the expansion.

EA can't force you to buy the expansion, but you have to realize that they exist to make money and turn a profit.  If they dont' create a market, they don't move product.

As someone who was initially skeptical, I can say that I enjoy the new maps and that I feel the money was well spent.  Especially after trying the Quake 4 and FEAR demos (which I was planning to buy) and deciding that I didn't like that gameplay near as much as BF2.  Strangely, you can't use the SF unlocks in SF, but only in BF2.  The only thing that I'm starting to miss in BF2 is the use of ziplines and grapples.  That really makes a difference in gameplay, and I wish those could be used everywhere...

well if you know someone with sf use there system log onto sf with your accout play a few rounds and depending on your rank pick the weapons you want to use in bf2, unlocks go by your PID not the system

just kill some1 and take their kit

ıts not that hard to get into a ranked server without cd-key i played ranked servers before i bought the game to see is t good or not. If you that desperate to unlock sf weapons contact me through msn messenger and i play with your account for 5 mins than voila you get the unlocks but as i say before its not that hard to get in a ranked server without cd-key.

lol, what about PB? it checks the CD-key, right?

Frag grenades are better than flash grenades, unless you're really good at taking advantage of blinded people. I would rather just kill them with shrapnel. Otherwise, SF unlocks are really no better or worse than regular BF2 unlocks. You can't bring tear gas, grappling hooks or zip lines into BF2, which would really unbalance things. If you really want to use a SF unlock without buying the expansion, just steal a kit. Meanwhile, those who actually bought the expansion are treated to more weapons in both games than those with vanilla BF. You don't really get anything else besides more infantry-based maps. A few more awards is all.

Nobody says you have to buy SF if you don't want to, but it's kind of silly thinking it unfair that a game company gives people a bit of an extra (but not overpowering) treat for trading in $20 for a game enhancement.

And despite all the new weapons, guess what? I still like my AK's and G36C.

wah wah wah, cry me a river.  they arent forcing you to buy it.  either buy or dont.  regardless you will have to learn how to adapt with the new toys that crossover.  or you could whine like a little girl who had her dolly taken away, but thats not gonna help you or anyone else.

Except in the case of medics where the G36E is a HUGE improvement over both the AK and M16. It does more damage than the M16 and is way more accurate than the AK-101... couldn't ask for a better compromise.

I have bought SF, but I still prefer playing on normal BF2 servers, the maps are much more interesting and contain less bugs. Few days ago, I played SF for some hours, managed to obtain some badges, but I was again confronted with the fact that there are lot's of bugs in that game, I made as much as two teamkills (maybe even more) because my TEAMMATES were given a RED name above their heads :S. That way of playing isn't fun at all, on the other hand, the unlocks are very fine, so it's your choice, last thing: I guess (a lot of) bugs will be removed in the upcoming patch, at least, I really hope so!
