im selling my 2 XFX 6600GT's 256 mb g cards to my m8, £80, do you think this is a good price, i looked at Ebay ect to see what prices there going for and its pretty much less then what im selling them for.
and then for chrismas i gunna get a BFG 7950 GT OC 512 mb for £180 i think,  would this give me better proformance with this single card, with my 2 6600's im getting a benchmark 05 score of 6000, and if anyone has this card could please tell me there score was.

thanks.

The 7950GT should pull about 5000+in 3DMark 06. 06 is more demanding than 05, so I'd imagine it would score better than 6000.

Considering a 7950 is basically 2 7900's stuck together, it make sense for two 7900's to out pace two 6600's... (although it is not quite the same, 10-20% slower than two seperate 7900's in SLI)

he is talking about the 7950 gt not 7950 gx2. the gt is basically a new revision of the 7900gt's. big difference there
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I would wait until Vista comes out and get a DirectX10 card. It's really quite pointless to buy a graphics card right now with the new technology right at the doorstep.

I thought the **50 part meant it was the dual card version....  OOO well

I would agree with BeerzGod but 8800GTS's are still around the £300 mark, I think nvidia are releasing another carf late Q1 of 07 (just in time for ATI's DX10) me thinks it is a superior card to the 8800GTX, cause if nvidia are smart they will release it and definetly have the most powerful card on the market for another 3 or so months.  Something like the equiv of a 7950 GX2 (8950 GX2 probably) or a cheaper £150-£250 8600 for us mere mortals who dont have all the cash....

Quick question, does 3DMark06 void your video card warranty or anything, or does it shorten it's "life" lol?

I've wanted to try it, but it pushes your card to the max, which sounds a bit intimidating.
