BF2S Forums Double Points Weekend and All Unlocks Weekend?!

Assuming this isn't a hoax I think that "all unlocks weekend" and especially the "double points" weekend are very BAD ideas.

If you really want all the unlocks to "test them out" then play single player--with the new patch you can now turn them all on.

The double points thing just cheapens the game. If it's double points for EVERYTHING then that's a big big bonus to new accounts who are just beginning to earn badges and such...if it didn't factor in awards then it's still a BAD idea. People who have high ranks have worked very hard to get them. If somebody plays a bunch on a double-points weekend and scores bigtime it's like they're taking a cheap shortcut.

All of this sounds like a blatant appeal to the younger players of this game (or potential players) who are unable to either be patient to earn unlocks or who want a shortcut to advancement because they're too impatient to earn it the way the rest of us did. I truly hope this is a joke.

Where does it say double points?

er um, its prolly a boon to us in the middle ground... i dont have time (or the inclination) to play 2142 12 hours a day so im not even a contender for the top players in this game. what do they have, like 50,000 points already and the game is only out a few months... all these players are either: stat padders/cheaters, have more than 1 player running the account, or have totally too much time on their hands and play the game all day long everyday.

i think all unlocks and x2 points sounds like fun... i could use a couple unlocks...

That's pretty dumb, they should have put it next weekend. There are a lot of people getting 2142 on Monday, so they won't get the chance to get double the points. Stupid EA, they messed up again.

That is, if there is any doubling of points... doc.josh is lying i think.

Dude, get a clue before you go spouting off.  The top players have 100,000 points.  I bought the game when it first came out and I've got 57,000 points.  This is only getting to play after working 40+ hours a week and spending time with my wife and two daughters.  I get to play late in the evening only on my 2 days off, (after wife and kids are in bed) and don't/have never cheated or stat-padded.
