anyone ever had this, i thought it mighta just been a bug and i was viewing the other choppers tv missile but the thing is i could steer the missile

It's real.

Sometimes when 2 people fire at the same time they get control of the enemy's missile. If they hit their own chopper they get a tk. It happened to me once when i was dueling, i steered my missile away but the other guy pwnt himself. i lol'ed hard

Hahaha, you should have TV'd yourself, punished yourself for the TK, and then gotten kicked for excessive TKs.

That would have made for some sweet BF2 drama right there my friend!

yeah soloing the chopper, some servers hate it when you do that as you can rake up loads of kills.  they especially don't like it when you kill the admins over and over again with the tv missile.  they only way to get good at flying the choppers is by practicing and a bit more practice and just to top it of a little more practicing.  go on single player and play daqin oilfields 16 player size and practice with the bots or even start up a lan game on a 64 size wake and just fly about and get the feel for the heli.

i use my mouse and keyboard for flying helis but a joystick for jets, i prefer using the m&k for helis as i feel a i have more control and can be more precise but its all down to how you like to play.  if you don't know how to solo a chopper with the tv just go to youtube and type in something like "bf2 solo chopper" or something and there will be plenty of videos you can watch.

hope it helped, like i said just practice and you will become good.  don't go on 64 player size servers and expect to own on your first few tries but play smaller maps and practice.

Practice makes perfect RTMM. Just go on and practice your little heart out. Slowly you will get good, who knows maybe even great! GL!

Probably not. If you're at a high enough altitude, and can line up and fire your missile quickly, you'll be able to jump into the gunners seat, switch to TV, fire, hit, get out of TV, and jump back to the pilot's seat all before you've even flipped upside down. Also, as long as you're at a stable height (Ie: Not moving towards the ground) when you switch, the heli will drift upwards and slightly back. It's nothing to worry about, it's just a little bit scary the first time. And of course, if you're in the gunner's seat and you see a TV missile coming at you, there's not much you can do except bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.

it only drifts backwards if your in the gunners position for to long, if it does drift backwards your taking to long to fire.  what to do is get the enemy just under you missile crosshairs then turn to ure right a little bit then quickly switch to gunner - right click- left click and hit your target (hopefully) then press f2 and gain control again.

the reason you go to the right is because it drifts to the left when theres no pilot and by the time you get into firing mode on the tv you should be aiming right at your target.

I've had it 3 times. Once during a heli match, but luckily I saw him miss. The other two times I didn't have time to think "wtf?" but I did try turning the missile away but no luck. It's an awesome bug, just as long as it stays rare.
