standoffs?

but harddrives/motherboards come with IDE or SATA cables.. same with the CPU heatsink (unless you want uber ones)

Hmm standoffs would be good. Ive got a good list now. I also have an old zalman copper heatsink but i don't know if it will fit this cpu.

I cant see any in the box so i will probably have to buy them. Its all in parts without a case.

500W? Sheesh wth you can run 2 1600XT's SLI and a 3800+ AM2 64 X2 AND 2 gigs of ram on a $40 AU thermaltake 430W PSU. It has 2 fans in it a PCI wire 2 SATA wires 9 other wires its got all someone needs. Unless he wants to use a 8800GTX etc. Note the words budget out of 300AU you can get a half assed computer from that I actually wouldnt even bother with a P4 anymore I say save your money and get a job. Ive managed to build a whole budget PC from $810 thats everything -Floppy Drive ~$4 and a case which could be at a minimum $80 and it will be capable to run the latest games on a medium setting and BF2 on a high setting with decent FPS. Upgrading a P4 isnt worth it... at all.

hmm, look on ebay if you have it in your country.  that low of a budget is going to be tight.  here's my idea.  get a cheap mobo that supports either amd 939 socket or intell 775 socket.  amd opteron 144 venus and pentium d 805 can overclock very good.  (what you need if your on a budget).  if you have a 6600gt then you should run everything on medium fine.  a 1gb upgrade will cost you $100 bucks easy nowadays unless you get a deal on ......ebay.  so that should cover the meat of a computer.  a dvd drive should be less than $30 and a hard drive could be found for less than $50.  oops i forgot exactly what you need, but these are some ideas.  you won't get much of an upgrade for that little cash.  as was stated, maybe save the 300 and wait a little.  don't let it burn a hole in your pocket unless your willing to overclock and cut corners here and there.
