Search? Yes I have  thanks

There seems lots of supposed solutions with this however its all quite general....non have worked yet anyway.

The Problem:

New ram, exactly the same type except brand (old samsung/new corsair) a matched pair of 2x512mb.

Everything goes fine, bf2 and 2142 run FINE.

About an hour later, i start bf2 and i get the beloved "memory sanity error".

Try 2142, get about half way through map loadage....crash to desktop.

Resize page file - get to another stage of loading...crash to desktop.

CCleaner scan, delelte page file...crash to desktop.

-------------------------------------------

I don't think its a problem with the ram because it runs amazingly on windows and other programs.

Just bf2 and 2142.

PLEASE, has anyone got any ideas of things to try or advice?

Thanks alot.

I had a similar problem with ram I bought ran everything fine, except for random ctd's on Bf2. Luckily it was some second hand stuff that I had off a mate so he had it back and flogged it to someone else, the only solution I found to this problem was new ram...

A friend of mine has a similar problem to yours, but it involves F.E.A.R. and not BF2 (which he can run fine). Same thing though... ctd's. He's buying new ram, returning the stuff he has now... i think... haven't talked to him in a week or so.

He's tried numerous things, including the old "blow on it" strategy from our old 8-bit nintendos... so he's rather frustrated by it. Again, BF2 runs fine, the problem is with FEAR, and he says it's actually sound-related... (i'm talking to him on the phone now... so that's why this is disorganized) He says that disabling sound seems to have solved his problem, but his sound worked fine with old ram???? (i don't get it???)

"It's not a sound card issue"
"still getting the new ram"
"how was your christmas?"

blah blah blah...

WOW this was a run on post...

The RAM you have may have a bad sector, and is causing the this issue.  I would return the RAM from where you got it.  It maybe only one stick that is causing the issue, but you should take them both back just to be safe, and to save you a lot of time on trouble shooting.

Ok, reinstalled bf2....seems to work ok...for the moment...which it did in the first place anyway.

Reinstalling 2142....md5 errors....

Any advances?

Thanks for the responses so far

Was the MD5 issue where EA said that you have to uninstall a Microsoft update?

I don't think so....its something to do with the RAMage....because it all worked before.

According to Tactialgamer.com  it could be because of a bad RAM issue.

Edit:

There is this thread on this forum.  It also mentions something about RAM.

Edit 2:

Doing a search on the forums here, it also seems that a MD5 issue could occur if you downloaded the game.  People with AF/EF/2142 seemed to get the MD5 error also.
