Been at it for about a year, and almost done playing this game.  Looked at my stats today, and one thing bugs me, my 0.90 w/l record.  So anyone who wants to give it a shot, take a look at my stats and tell me why I have a losing record.

It's pure luck, simple as. you're team wins or looses, nothing to do with your skill, don't worry.

For example, no.3 guy in the world, http://bf2s.com/player/67382006/. Same ratio as you.

Ok easy, this is how I got mine up from about 0.30. Play Sharqi on MEC, they very very VERY rarely lose, and huge points with it.

If it's pure luck, woudn't my ratio be 1.00?

Maybe that is the reason why my ratio is so bad - n00bs like you teamswitching to the winning side?

Uuuuh.. noo not really..my W/L is 1.75 because I usually play on servers that involve TEAMPLAY! teamplay will result in winning, which will result in your WLR going up! ..

I don't believe Adams is a n00b. He has more points than you in a lot less time, I'd say he's pretty experienced. And what is your problem? You insult him after he tries to give you advice? You are the n00b here.
God I hate that word.

If you really want to get it up, join a squad more, and implement more teamwork into your play, one good squad on a pub server can turn the tide no matter what.  If you have a couple of friends (3 would be nice) then you could all get together and squad up.  You'll get those wins in no time.

in all honesty, W/L ratio doesn't mean jack squat.  Hell, the other day, i got 113 points on a Jalalabad round, and my team lost 195-0

so really, as long as you personally are doing well, W/L doesn't matter.  Like Justice said, it doesn't have anything to do with your skill.

No, it's not pure luck. A skilled player can turn the battle around to his team's favor quite easily.

I don't mean to insult anyone, but what that guy was suggesting is switching to the team that has better chances of winning.  That's hardly fair play, and can hardly be called "advice."

And I'm not the one who has to cheat to overcome a .30 w/l ratio.

Finally a thoughtful reply to my original question.  I do agree with you that a great individual performance cannot overcome a poor team effort, but overall the numbers should even out over time.  I have a good k/d ratio, I defend a good portion of the time, I destroy vehicles, and I don't vehicle whore.  However, what my w/l ratio is suggesting is that I choose an average server with balanced teams, I will decrease my team's chances by 10%, which is pretty ridiculous.

You can become a good teamplayer, the kind of player that can determine on his own if his team is gonna lose or win. Cap many flags, kick some ass, get good points. Just like me.

Wake Island seems to be a really tough map for the side that starts out on the Aircraft carrier...   How do you achieve such a good overall ratio Demon?

No, and no.. My bid would be, cap more flags, revive more guys, and cap more flags..

Skill has everything to do with winning..

Unless ofcourse your cursed with the "always having suckass team" curse..

btw.. the#lord#of#weed sucks at this game..

Wrong, how fuking wrong, 1 skilled player means nothing, if there is 1 guy on 1 team running around capping flags he will NOT turn the battle around, if there are 1 or 2 teamworking squads on the other side. It all depends  weather you get on the team with SPM whores or team players, end of.
