Ok hi, i'm new here but have posted on other forums so I know how these places work.

Merry Christmas everyone btw. But what I wanted to ask was, how will these specs run Battlefield 2?

- Intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz.
- 4MB Shared L2 Cache.
- 1GB 667Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.
- 128MB GDDR3 SDRAM ATI Radeon X1600.
- Plenty of Hard Drive space
- Nice 17' Monitor.

Any answers are appreciated. But be nice.

If anyone has similar sort of specs could you post a picture of your in-game typical standard.

Yup, your pretty good. I wouldn't go all high or anything crazy like that with your gpu but your definitely good.

Get a 256 MB nvidia 7600 GT..they aren't that expensive and will give you good quality for money! Believe me..maybe if you could affort it a nother gig of RAM..that will enable you to play on high..

Yeah I was thinking the 128 may be a bit low but if I can get away with it I am going to. I mean so long as the standard is nice then I can deal with that, I don't particularly need every setting on the highest possible.

The problem with upgrades is that I am running a Mac, and I think the upgrades are kinda limited for this sort of thing. I believe I can upgrade the RAM at least to 3GB but I am not in a rush to do that just yet. Like I said if the standard of the game play is good then i'll just keep it. I'll never miss what I don't have because I have never played Battlefield on a higher spec computer than this.

As a matter of fact, does anyone here know how easy it is to upgrade a new desktop Mac? Its a whole new board game to PC's that you can do yourself. I'm thinking I may have to go back to the shop and get them to do it for anything like that...

You know with that card, I think you will not be able to rise any of the graphical settings.

Mmmm I think to get a descent FPS that will run a mix of low and medium, RDMC(2) is right, get the 7600GT, it's not that expensive and the difference is that thing WILL run smoothly on higher setting's, a mix of medium and high.

Ok thanks for the picture, thats the kind of thing i'm looking for, since I have only ever played BF2 on a friends computer, nothing on my own, so I dont have any point of comparison.

I think I can deal with those graphics. Remember it is the excellent game play of this game that makes it what it is.

Bet you wont say that if your lagging in close quartres situations. Smooth graphical play is key
