Well, I don't always have it on the highest sensitivity. For bombing and strafing runs, I take it down a notch or two for accuracy. Same with TV missiling. When I'm evading or dogfighting, then it goes back up to the highest.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
Ahh, always forget about that, I fly straight keyboard in choppers and joystick for jets. Seriously however, turning the resolution and sensitivity all the way up makes the mouse very hard to control, I can't see anyone using it for anything but choppers. I'm not saying the G5 is bad, but teh extra buttons are EXTREMELY useful, I use them all both in game and on my desktop.ThomasMorgan wrote:
Actually I do use the highest sensitivity when I'm flying jets and choppers. It's much easier to pull of evasive maneuvers in jets and make smooth, sweeping turns. Also, in helicopters, turning is pretty much only limited by how quickly you can move your mouse...so the higher resolutions does help quite a bit.Flaming_Maniac wrote:
Why is everyone saying G5 over MX518, and why no reasons? The G5 does have 400 more dpi, but I highly doubt that you turn your sensitivity so far up that you start skipping. Apart from that the only difference is the G5 has less buttons, and now I couldn't get along with out my two thumb buttons and knuckle button. The G5 is not better just because it's newer.
[sarcasm]Of course, it does have some FRICKIN SWEET LAZERZ!!!![/sarcasm]
Also, choppers do have a limit, and it's how fast yo ucan do it with a keyboard. Only two settings, 1 and 0.
I wonder if it'll be TOO fast since I can only play BF2/2142 on 800x600 with my Radeon 9600, lol.
Get this one..................

G5.
i personally like the G15 more than the G5. You get that extra thumb button that you can bind to something. It's nice. G5 is too sassy for me.
I love my MX518
MX518 all the way.
Yes the G5 does have like 2K dpi (but then who would use it @ that sensitivity??). My 518 is set to like 1600DPI and thats plenty fast enuff 4 me.
It looks like the G5 has a mouse button missing on the side (you gotta admit, having 2 side buttons is soooo convenient).

Forget both of them....
this is probably the best mouse you can buy:

no the best combination EVER is the G5 + G15
Now, the MX518 people are coming in. It looks like if I wanted more buttons, I should get the 518 but if I wanted more speed I should get the G5. Leaning more toward the 518 now. The guy above me has convinced me of the convenience of having two side buttons. When your screen is only going to be 800x600 for that particular computer anyway (can't upgrade from 9600 because everything else requires at least a 300-watt PSU, which I don't have), I probably wouldn't need the extra speed.

I love my MX 518 its the best weapon money can buy.
I got the G5 for Christmas and I love it. Gonna have to get used to 2000 dpi on the jet though.
Like most people I say the G5, but according to benchmark test, the MX series is better.
eh G15 is a keyboard.MURcarnage wrote:
