hey guys, well im basically stuck, i have been playing bf2142 on my own for a while, now my bro got bf2142 for xmas and now when ever we both connect to a server the internet 'goes down' and we have to unplug the modem for it to work again, we are both using the same connection - now i just need help on what it could be, do you think we need a new modem or summat ?

yeah...do you guys have a router hooked up and you're both playing wirelessly? because my brother plays CS1.6 while im playing bf2 or 2142 and we have no problems whatsoever.

You're probably overloading ur connection, (or however you wanna word that/call it). Happened to me and my friends with BF2 Lans. We'd either get 200+ pings for servers located in the same city, or no connection.

yer, it goes from the modem to the router, is there no setting in 2142 that allows me to set how much info im sending to the modem etc. , yer we are networked - but we can play seperate games without it crashing, just whenever we play bf2/bf2142 it crashes

help - i dont know how to do this - i think i need a new modem because it crashes all the while but i am not sure

First when you say that the Internet goes down, do you mean that you can not connect to any websites?  Do you mean that it is really slow?  What actually happens when it goes down?

i cant do anything - its like not having internet - there are still lights on the modem but then we have to pull the power cord outta the back -

its a NTL:home one - no model number its silver - glad that it mite b the modem tho _-_ we have had it for about a year or 2 tho
