This is the best AGP card available, especially for the price, $180.

and like wedge said, X-Fi is a good choice.

Get a E6800 Extreme Edition Core 2 Duo, that will have you set for a great processor, wait a little while and then go grab a DX10 video card and a PCI-E capable motherboard. Make sure you also have a 600w power supply as well, dont wanna fry out anything like that new E6800.

He's running an AGP mobo, he would have to upgrade everything to accommodate the E6800.  please read his post before responding.

man i hate people who think you have to have all the new stuff other wise its shit sorry but i sick of it

if people ask for advice on up grade "you gotta have 8800" people do have jobs, mortgages to pay

anyways

whats do you want to run on your machine its looks like a good spec

watch out for your maxium FSB your motherboard can take if you change your processor

look out for the x1650 or x1950 Ati AGP cheap and very good

RAM is fine

Agreed, though I still would think about switching processor (doesnt need to be C2D), p4's are evil lil fuckers.

X-fi is a good choice because you will will likely keep it when you get another mobo+proc+ram.

the 7600GT is better then the X1650 for about $20 more the X1650XT is actually comparabl to the 7600GS which the 7600GT PWNZORIZES.
