I need help choosing 2gb of DDR2 RAM from this site www.centrecom.com.au
Just look for the lowest timing.
Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it
Some of the ram on that site doesnt display the timing specs and i tried googling it but cant find any specs.

I found this Corsair DDR2 2GB PC-5300 (1GBx2) Value Select (VS2GBKIT667D2) its latency 5-5-5-15-2T is this anygood?
5-5-5-15-2T doesn't seem very fast, but I think it depends on your motherboard what latency you should choose. Corsair C4 and C3 are supposed to be good.
Wow it is around 4/3 ths the price on newegg, but it is now in au...B00MH3ADSH0T wrote:

Link doesn't work, and you didn't really give me much information. I just picked out ram in your budget with the fasted timings.
i fixed the link
i guess what im saying is a pc-5300 at 677mhz and 5-5-5-15 better then pc-4200 533 mhz at 4-4-4-12?
.
anyone..
so the fact that one is 677mhz and the other 533mhz makes no differnce and the pc4200 and 5300 whats the differnce between that?
The core speeds are far more important than the timing speed or CL's.
You will see little difference with Cas latencys unless you have a really good machine, and only then would you see minimal differences.
so 677 = pc5300 > 533 = pc4200

so 677 = pc5300 > 533 = pc4200

Thanks thats what i needed to know i decided im going to go with this: Corsair DDR2 2GB PC-5300 (1GBx2) Value Select (VS2GBKIT667D2)
No problem, have fun with 2 gigs, I just 2 some more and my beast boots up in less than 10 seconds from a cold boot.
Karma?
