I can usually say I know my way around the law but not in this case. Traffic Laws i know next to nothing about so I need some help, please.
About an hour ago I got a ticket for high-beaming a cop when he was pulling somebody over. I get kinda mad when I see the police messing with hard working folks like myself & I was heading out @ about 5:30am when I saw a police cruiser that had pulled over a work truck with ladder racks.....if you see a beat up pickup truck with ladder racks & tool boxes driving at 5:30am the guy is gonna be going to work 95% of the time, just let him be.
Anyway I was driving towards the two vehicles on the opposite of the road & I saw the officer walking from his car to the truck & for some dumbass reason I just instinctively high beamed the fucker. If I would have taken the 1 second to think about it I wouldn't have done it but I didn't think. So i didn't think anything of it, went to the lumber yard, got my stuffs & headed back home. Around the same place I originally saw him he was hiding on the side of the road (probably trying to catch speeders) & when I drove past he pulled out & pulled me over. The ticket said some silly ass reason like "Interfering with a motor vehicle investigation" & it's gonna cost me $500.
Did i really do anything illegal or was he just pissed? I mean seriously all I did was high-beam the guy, isn't $500 a little steep? So if anybody knows anything about traffic laws could you please tell me if I was actually breaking the law, I don't have access to law books anymore so I can't look it up.
Would really appreciate some input.
Sorry if this is a little hard to understand, it's still early & I'm rushing around a bit.
