I was looking forward to the Lambert but once I played around with it (via field upgrades and picking up kits) I hated it. Too much recoil. Its only good for close range where you should be knifing the guy anyway. Lambert wont win close range fights one on one against assualt or support given equal reaction times and aiming. Pistol works just as well really. The knife is where its at. Nothing ends a close heated discussion like a shank. As recon, stealth should be your middle name and the knife is the only silent weapon. SR's and knife are the way to go. Pistol for a change of pace. Splashing cranium's and stickn em with titanium should be your credo. Sure you will die a fair amount but you will have a lot more fun. Of course, if the hit detection gods arent on your side it can be frustrating.
Past 15m I can kill faster with an SR than the lambert. Worst engagement distance for recon is somewhere around 10-15meters, too far away for a knife rush and too close for SR+pistol. At that distance, any other kit besides an engies smg has the advantage.
Pilum is at the top of my to-get list. The base AT rockets were a huge disappointment coming from bf2. I think I can out-run them.
