A DVD drive costs nothing. I got my DVD burner drive for 39$ (canadian money that is), so maybe about 34-35$ US. At that price when it will fail I'll just get a new one. And NO i don't feel like going through 5 CDs, like half-life 2, to install.

I went out and bought a dvd drive and I'm not mad or anything. I installed teh drive with in a couple of seconds and then I was ready to go. I would rather have games on dvd's because its F'in annoying when you have to use 5 cd's.
You could always spend 10 days downloading it via dial-up! If you dig up a 14.4 modem you could have it in around a month!!!
I think DVDs are supposed to be higher quality, I also heard that a program takes up less space when installed from a DVD than if it was installed from a CD(s). The obvious benefit is that it saves time as you don't have switch CD during an installation. It's like that stupid booster pak predicament. They should've put that on CDs too. The EA downloader is fucking retarded.

It should have been available as either cd (s) or a dvd IMHO.
I have a computer that I use to game on, it has problems playing games from 2003 on all lows, even it has a DVD drive, thats kinda sad if a computer doesnt have a DVD drive and you expect to play 2142 on it.

Conclusion; a shitload of kills-oppertunities!
On topic; I bought both BF2 and BF2142 on DVD and I find a lot easier to install 1 DVD instead of 5 CD's. Now when I install I can go for a drink or something, come back, and be ready to play. With CD's you had to stay to take out CD1 and put in CD2, take out CD2 and put in CD3, ...

If you don't have a DVD drive you probably have a VHS connected to your TV and a vinyl player.

Well the dvd is nice for instaling but haveing the game on cd has one perk: you can use a cd image maker to play the game off your hard drive, i can get the dvd to work on my emuliator (does anyone have a fix to this)...

You should buy a new computer, becouse if your computer does'nt have a DVD drive, you cannot play new games like battlefield 2142 on it. Christmas is over. And you dont have one?!?
