Heres my story: I have a geforce 6600GT AGP graphic card which I use together with
- AMD Athlon 64 4000+
- 1,5 gig ram
- 200gig HD
and this motherboard:

, which has both AGP- and PCI-slot.

Now, I'm considering buying a new graphic card, and since most new cards are PCI, I was wondering if its possible/recommendable to keep my old graphic card still in, that is to run the 6600GT with a new graphic card..? And, does anyone have suggestions for a new graphic card to run with/without the 6600GT for this computer? Appreciate all replies!

another 6600gt since when you run duel cards they are useually the same type.

Newer video cards are PCI-e, not PCI. Big difference between the two.

To answer your original question, yes you can run AGP and PCI video cards at the same time. That's how dual monitors was done before cards had more than one output.

I actually bought that motherboard half a year ago, and had a Ati Radeon X850 XT AGP card in it. Then for Christmas i got a nvdia 8800 GTS and took out the ati card and works extremely well.

If you're thinking you can run something like SLi or Crossfire, then no, you can not.

The question is do you really want old tech when you can get newer tech?
Why get sli/ crossfire when you go up one card.
7600sli= 7900gt the price is NOT the same but the 7900 in most cases preforms better in most of the benchmarking it has done.
