I have a 17' lcd with crap all over the screen. What would you guys recommend would be the best way of cleaning it?
Glassex.
I use a damp paper towel.

I would use this one
paper towels leave small scratches ... over the course of time it can be noticable ... try using a something like a cloth baby diaper.topthrill05 wrote:

Use a dry, lint-free, nonabrasive cloth (such as one made from cotton or microfiber) to clean LCDs. Don't use paper towels or an old rag, as they can permanently scratch the delicate LCD surface. Special LCD-cleaning cloths and kits are widely available and can be a worthwhile investment. When a dry cloth won't get the job done, moisten a separate, but similar, cloth with water (or vinegar mixed with water) and then follow up with the dry cloth.
While cleaning an LCD, particularly its screen, apply as little pressure as possible. Don't spray liquids directly on the LCD or monitor (or any other computer component, for that matter). Only spray a cloth to dampen it and then use that cloth to clean the LCD or monitor.

Microfiber towel, since there's only dust on my LCD from time to time. I rather do not spit right onto it, you know.
If there's something liquid on it - no, not what you think - however, i take the tips of my sleeves and slightly touch the screen so the sleeves (I'm only wearing the finest pieces of cloth, you know :p) can soak up that specific liquid.

Vinegar mixed with water? I only use that if mine is starting to smell.......Mouse315 wrote:

Naughty naughty. I just use windex(glass cleaner) with some tissue, apply light pressure as to not push into the monitor and aircan the dust particles when dry.
well, whatever cleaning agent you decide to use, make sure it is ammonia free. it will say multi-purpose on it somewhere, and might even directly say "ammonia free". do no use windex. it will leave smudges on an LCD.

use it on my lcd tv, plasma tv and crt monitor + use it at work on all the monitors we have and all the ones we get in for servicing. works like a charm

windex and paper towel FTW never noticed a scratch nor stuck pixel
someone tell me the difference of water cause all of this is a water base substance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! geez so much money down teh drain.
Soak the monitor in water overnight. The stuff on your screen will wipe right off after that.
Not true...If I got superglue that bonded it wouldn't come off. But if you want to get it off put it in acid.
