ok, well, if the 512's are the same clock speed than the 2 1 gig sticks, then you're fine, otherwise you're gonna have trouble.

And if you're computer refuses the old sticks, just take them out.

Also, from what I've read u'll be better off with just 2gigs instead of more

does it matter what slots they are in?

How many slots do you have? if they aren't DIMM, then it doesnt matter.

There might be a conflict between your ram with the cas latencys. If those screenies are of you running all four sticks and no error, then your ram might be compromising maximum potential.

If I were you, I'd just stick with the 2 1gig sticks, thats plenty of ram, and you could make some money off those other sticks also.. Win Win

EDIT: those are 256 sticks, not 512

EDIT: EDIT: I don't want to post any more new posts so I'm just gonna edit this one.

Your frequency doesn't look right either PC3200 should br 400Mhz if I'm not mistaken, are you running the ram on lower timing? if you're not, try just putting in the 2 1gig sticks and see what it says.

since, you didn't change the timing yourself with software or in your bios, I'm assuming your motherboard cannot  handle 400mhz or you're being limited by another piece of hardware, or your bios.

show your mother board specs...

and once again, i'd suggest going with the 2 1 gig sticks, and playing a game of BF2, if you don't see a difference then somethings wrong,

but an improvement in stability/ loading times = good!

IG, Put it all your sticks, then download CPUz from here http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php It's a zip file so open it, then create a new folder and extract the files to it. Then open CPUz and it will show you all your timings, etc. You can see if they are the same timings or if they're different. Hopefully that helps
He just posted all those pics using cpuz lol!

Just be sure you put the sticks in the correct slots. The slots should be color coded, so put the 1GB sticks in one color and the 256 sticks in the other. This way you should be able to keep running in dual channel.

If they use different timings or voltages you can easily change the settings in your BIOS to make them match.

Read your computer's/motherboard's manual. Usually you can get into the BIOS by hitting F8 or Del during startup.

It should be set to Auto, so it will automatically change the timings so they all match.
