"...I cannot suggest you buy a 680i board till this problem has been ironed out."
So read it or be a monkey if u get bad one. It may even have some HARDWARE problems (they don't know yet) so wait till they find out what is causing the problems.
read about it here:              http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.h … VzaWFzdA==

I've got an EVGA 680i MB on it's way here right now. Hope I don't get loads of problems with it.

Has anyone here had any problems with 680i chipset boards? Everything I've heard from any other source indicates that it is the best chipset for a C2D system, which makes it the best chipset full stop.

i just purchased a 650i based board, newegg did not have Asus boards in stock. I have a hard time trusting anything except Asus or Abit. But i noticed in some of the reviews on Newegg.com stated some issues - they are worth a look.

The NV chipsets may have more features, but for speed, stability, and reliability, you still can't beat Intel chipsets.

That's reassuring.

Royal f*ckup on NVIDIA's part, releasing something with that kind of software issue in the first place.

I've got my 680i board now. It overclocks like a dream and I have yet to see any sort of instability of any sort. It even worked perfectly beforing installing the BIOS fix. I've got my 6300 absolutely trouncing stock FX-62 benchmarks. For the sort of overclcoking performance this board is giving me I'm prepared to overlook a few little fuckups by Nvidia.

I have one with my 6600 and it runs fine for the most part.  The only thing that has really been bugging me is that occationally I have key lockups, and it makes me want to punch something.  It always happens when I'm pressing more than one button at once, (ex.. flying a helicopter).  Does anyone know why it would be doing this?

Try a different USB port.
