Norton, you have Norton security software on your pc... OMG, you do need help . The 'invalid CD key' complaint is quite common after a reinstall.... check through the 'help' threads, plenty of help there.... also, I'm not sure why you're uninstalling the SF game.... is it because of the graphics problem we talked about earlier? if so, there's always a solution to that problem... we talked about it earlier

Ryan... I hope you get all of this resolved, you're missing out on a pretty good expansion.

Have a look on some of these threads for SF help info > http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=6686  and my favourite > http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=6275 (because it's mine) .

Good luck Mom, you deserve it..... this game nearly made me bald

The invalid CD key got me for the first time when I wanted to play.  I just searched EA's help area and it tells you exactly what to do.

'Invalid CD key' error after installing the patch.
      Answer

Sometimes a conflict in the updated files can prevent the game from properly identifying your CD-key.  Usually, refreshing your CD-key will resolve the issue.  Note that this will only correct the error if you used the same Windows account to install, patch, and troubleshoot the game.  If you have switched Windows accounts at any point it is recommended you uninstall, reinstall, and repatch using the same Windows login.

If you have Battlefield 2

   1.
      Click Start.
   2.
      Go to Run.
   3.
Type regedit and hit OK button.
   4.
Click on plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
   5.
Click on plus sign next to SOFTWARE.
   6.
Double click on Electronic Arts folder.
   7.
Double click on EA Games folder.
   8.
Double click on Battlefield 2 folder.
   9.
      Double click on ergc folder.
  10.
Data displayed will probably have x9392 only.
  11.
Right click on it and select Modify.
  12.
Type in x9392 and then your CD key.
      note: don’t include hyphens.

Example: x9392(your Battlefield 2 CD key here)

If you have Battlefield 2: Special Forces

  12.
Type in x9392 and then your Battlefield 2 CD key.
      note: don’t include hyphens.
  13.
Double click on Battlefield 2 Special Forces folder.
  14.
      Double click on ergc folder.
  15.
Data displayed will probably have x9392 only.
  16.
Right click on it and select Modify.
  17.
Type in x9392 and then your Battlefield 2 CD key.
      note: don’t include hyphens.
note: do not use your Battlefield 2: Special Forces CD key.

Example: x9392(your Battlefield 2 CD key here)

   1. If the issue persists, you will need to uninstall the game completely and then reinstall and repatch to completely remove and replace corrupted files.

I think it starts just fine.

Just when you try to join it gives you this really annoying "Your CD key isnt valid cuz ea haxxors" message and you look over at the box you just opened, and was sealed and was purchased from Best Buy or somewhere else.. and go.. hmm.. wtf over?

sry, but why don't you just leave him alone? Even today not every 13 year-old is a computer genius. Be glad about his mother taking care of her son...
but Ryan, as said before plz use the search, thx

Everyone needs to cut this kid a littile slack. It probably isn't his computer but a family computer. Therefor, it's his mum's responsibility to keep it up and running for everybody.

Bottom line, if you aren't helping them then STFU.
