Whats your RTS play style?

In an RTS, whats your strategy?

Defensive, protect main base, then send in huge army.	73%	73% - 45
Aggressive, continually send units into enemy base.	16%	16% - 10

When you play an RTS how do you play it?

I personally, build up a good defensive base, spend some resources on walls, turrets etc.
Then build up my army to send in later.

I play L.O.T.R Battle for Middle Earth 2, Warhammer 40k, Rise of legends....(list goes on)
My defensive play suits me fine on all RTS' i play.

All games are different but which play style suits you?

I play a defensive strategy and whore reconnaissance, and then harass my enemy where he is weakest.

Ussually I fortify my base and make alot of really good units but in Company of Heroes I protect main base while send a few units

Couldn't explain the use of junk drawer better myself.

Back in my Warcraft 1&2 days, I would just build up a huge army, basically building a wall with my troops until it's three-four troops wide, and then I'd send my entire army to attack. You simply wipe them out at that point.

I usually stay back and wait for others to attack me and then after a while I realize that I should of started spending money on units instead of making more farms and spending money on the economy.

It's so much fun to creat hundreds of men and send them all in at once. It's not very strategic, but hella fun to watch.

It's like a wall of men and guns, and nothing can stop you.

I'm more of the aggressive player. I'll constantly send crap to their base, and build shit all over the map to view my enemies movements.

I used too play (banned) age of empires 3 and then i played first no rush games and then rush. Now im playin Company Of Heroes and then you must rush to survive, too gain all territories. But i do prefer to build a big army and then like BBOOOOOOOOM.
BUT the only way to be a good rts player is to atttack all the time!

aggressive is the only way to go.

that is my main philosophy in life, even beyond gaming. it certain holds true for every game i play, RTS or not.

attack attack attack. dictate the pace of the game, make the opponent react to you. you pick where, when, and how to engage.

this is how i play tekken. this is how i play company of heroes. this is how i play the specialists.

I play defensively, but you must constantly harrass the enemy, through rushes or raiding parties, i've found Generals to be the best RTS game overall, because of its huge variety. The only problem with that game is how unbalanced the Air general is unless your team is really good and his is not

I don't like sending a couple of units here and there; I'd rather build up a strong force and do a "blitzkrieg" sort of attack on his main base. Usually results in a quicker victory with less casualties.
