Ok, my stuff is too hot so I'm looking into water cooling to cool it, I've pretty much already made up my mind about going in that direction since I plan on oc'ing my AMD 4600 as much as i can & eventually adding a second 8800GTX. I am fairly confident about the setup process & all of that but what I am asking is "what hardware" to go with.

Seeing as this is my first water cooling attempt I'd prefer to get a "kit" even though I know they're a good bit more expensive, the one I'm looking at now is the  ZALMAN ZM – Reserator2 Fanless water cooling system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6835118016 but it's $320 from NewEgg including the $30 discount. I can afford it atm & I like it because it has a CPU Water Block, VGA Water Block, VGA RAM Water Block & a Northbridge Water Block all in one so I don't have to worry about ordering seperate parts or forgetting to order something the first time.
Does anyone know of anything else like this that isn't so expensive though? I mean I've always thought food was overrated so going without eating for a week or two is no big deal, right? It would be nice to shave a few bucks off that though.

I noticed that alot of people recommended DangerDen in previous liquid cooling related threads but as of this morning when I checked they were out of stock on every single pre-built kit & when I built one myself it ended up being more expensive then this (I think it was around $350 there).

Any recommendations/response would be very much appreciated, as always.

Just remember one thing. One leak and your dead. I suggest better air cooling.

Magik didn't you just buy an OEM rig? I would be all over them if it was running hot . What are you temps again?

Bastards won't even sell me anything to cool it! I called the tech support thing where they say they sell upgrades to current/past customers & the guy said ok he can ship me the water cooling system they sell & the light kit upgrade & then he put me on hold & then when he came back he said he was sorry he couldn't do anything & to check back at a later time. They won't sell me the parts to do it myself 7 they won't let me return it to have them install the parts, even though I offered to pay the shipping both ways.

My GPU idles at around 65-70C, CPU around 50-55C & something else idles around 45-50C (mobo maybe?). I see people talking about how they have they're overclocked badass Intel CPU's maxing out around 30C or less. I don't know how to check the load temps but I think I'd be scared to even if i did

man I was so close to just building my own system too but when I called to cancel they started shaving money off & gave me free overnight shipping the next day

I already added 2 extra 80mm fans inside too, dropped my GPU temp by 1-2C & thats it.

I just don't want to have ended up paying $3,000 for something that burns up in a week, been a bit worried to play games for more than 30min at a time too.

*Edit:* btw it never gets above 70F in this room because I have a massive industrial air conditioner, plus it's only like 30F outside right now!

I really don't have too much room for fans though, I had to mod the side of my case already just to install one little 80mm fan & i have another hanging from the HD cage

Do you think replacing the fans inside with better quality ones would make much difference, I don't know if i could rightly add any more, maybe one at the most.

I would consider getting a good heatsink for your CPU before a water setup. Right now it's not critical and they know this. 65-70c is pretty hot at idle. Pay attention to the temp levels when the components are under stress. Share that with your OEM not your idle temps. Remember you paid for service when you bought your machine. Unfortunately sometimes if you don't demand it you won't get it. They should not be selling you a machine with a setup resulting in a GPU temp at 70c.

Any particular recommendations for a socket AM2 CPU?

Ok heres what you do lol, take the sides off your case. Then put it next to your big ass industrial air con

That actually works, I've done it with an older computer and my friend did it on his uber comp, lowering temps by at leastin 7 degrees

I've actually been thinking how I can rearrange things in this room to do exactly that, except alot of water drains out of the air conditioner so if one of the hoses came off it's probably be worse then a water cooling accident anyway

Umm.. Dust and static = Very bad thing. Keep your components enclosed .

The best CPU cooler around at the moment, that I've seen, is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.  I've not seen the AM2 version yet but maybe the s939/940 version would fit?

You can also buy a GPU cooler - Zalman make a pretty decent one - that should reduce the temperature there. However, I've never fitted a GPU cooler myself as I don't want to invalidate the warranty.  Other people I know have and they say it's a bit tricky but definitely worth it.

EDIT: responding to cyborg:

Inert liquids ftw.  Expensive but think of it as insurance.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro

Compatible with Socket 754, 939, 940 and the latest AM2 platforms..
It can go toe-to-toe with the Big Typhoon or CNPS9500, but for about half the price and it's much easier to install. Even comes with great thermal paste pre-applied!

too many fans in the wrong places can hurt your air flow
