hi guys, i changed audio from software to hardware, jumped into a game and the audio was all garbled. exited out of the server, changed it back to software, saved the settings and exited.

unfortunately now BF2 wont even get to the login screen, it dumps me back to the desktop.

i've checked the audio.con files in my documents/battlefield 2/profiles etc and in them it's listed as using software.

has anyone else done this and fixed it up?

I've got a realtek sound board built in to the motherboard. When I switched it from software to hardware it sounded TERRIBLE, tons of feedback, really loud. But I didn't have that crashing game problem when I switched it back.

hi guys, i solved this. back in windows i noticed that winamp was crashing and i had no normal audio either.

a quick reboot fixed it up
