actually, compared to most games, not too many actually do.

wow. bf2editor is rendering light maps right now, and its a system hog, so everything i type is about two letters slow.

Thats only because he snipes on wake, anyway maybe the guy does hack, if he does it proves just how shit he really is if he can only manage 15 k/d.

First of all, I doubt this. You can't be revealing personal experience here, judging from your stats as a guy above me already said.

And second, for me, the SVD is still a newly overrated weapon.
The only advantage you have, is that you can fire multiple shots while strafing, which might leave you unhit by a bolt-action sniper. If you, however, go prone or crouch, he is much more likely to hit your head at once with his higher accuracy.
That's something I can report from personal experience. On maps like Mashtuur, where there might arise stalemates around hotel, mosque and backyard, I've hardly ever been shot down by an SVD-user as a sniper.

On long range, the SVD can not win in a duel with M24/L96 when assuming that both players are equally skilled, since the target becomes so small with the 3.33 scope that readjusting needs more time than in close/medium combat range.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not skilled with the SVD at all and since I'm looking for instant kills as a sniper (aka. headshots) the bolt action rifles are almost every time my choice. I'm purely a long range sniper, which can be figured out easily when looking at the time I've spent with the sniper rifle and how few kills I've made.

ah, but thats where you're wrong. yes, if i go prone with an SVD and he goes prone with an m24, he's probably going to win. but doing that would be like proning against a sniper with a g36c. stupid, right? if you have the equipment that allows you to move and fire more, why wouldn't you?

as well, the SVD is not a long range gun. for that i use the l96. one must pick his weapons carefully, or be killed.

the beauty of the SVD lies in its versatility. i've taken guys out at all ranges, from 1 meter to 100. once you master it, you can use it anywhere, even if its not the best for long range.

as well, as terror said, stats show absolutely nothing. the only meaningful stat is the history one. its the only stat that actually gives a hint of player progession. at 62 hours, my kdr was .82 with a sniper. at 82, its now 1.17 and on a sharp rise, because i generally never get less than a 3:1 kdr with it.

i'm the kind of player who doesnt really care too much about stats. i do things like charge 10 guys guns blaring. not to mention most of my time playing sniper was done in the air, or piloting choppers.
