Just got an SMS from the Canadian Embassy about 'counter-coup rumors' circulating.

'We advise you to return to your homes immediately and await further news. If rumors turn out to be true, the Metro Police advise an 8 PM curfew."

Rargh.

edit: I guess these are the disadvantages of living in a drug and alcohol addicted wasteland of piracy and prostitution.

I looked the word up but it just says "# A sudden appropriation of leadership or power; a takeover: a boardroom coup."

Yes, because they have a Canadian Embassy in Canada.

September 19th last year, there was a military coup to oust the prime minister, successful, martial law was imposed
On New Years Eve either muslim radicals or (more likely) the old leading party set off 8 bombs in downtown BKK, and evidence has been found of 6-7 more that were caught in time.

And.... counter-coup? Guess not, but it's still likely any day.
