I searched just to let you guys know.

My battlefield 2142 crashes at startup. The onlything i can blame to this is updating my res from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 and them pimple faced high school coders at EA cant make a game worth 50 dolllars so it crashes can someone point me in the right direction to get it working? Any advice much appreciated here??

Does it flicker to a black screen and back, or does the game start up and before you can do anything on the menu it crashes? Or does it not even start up at all?

yes it goes to a black screen like its gonna start then it crashes. I have no access to a menu.

no i got it from a retail store. cute chick gave me a discount because i knew her saved 20 bucks.

Heh, that's the way to get it. Well I don't know if this will work for you but it worked for me. (I downloaded the game.) Anyways, go into the directory that you installed BF2142 in and find BF2142Pace.exe. Right click it and go to properties, go under compatibility, and select run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 2000. (This is if you have XP.) Hit apply and try and run the game.

move the 'battlefield 2142' folder in my docks so it can't find your default accounts and it could be back to normal (worked for me in BF2)

Well all be damned, it worked. How weird. Thats stupid that a game cant keep up with a simple monitor upgrade. thanks guys +1 for everyone.
