Normally I play with a set group of players.  We do extremely well together, typically winning almost every round.  We rotate squad leader and we all play in a very similar way.  Most of us are proficeint with all aspects of the game - aircraft, helicoptors, armor, and all kits for ground pounding.  Of course some of us are better than others in certain aspects, but I would consider all of these guys above average and very good at the game.

Most of the time we have a full squad, but at times we get short and people join who we don't know.  Yesterday we had a squad of 3 regulars and 3 people whom we did not know.  I was squad leader and we were playing on Mushtarr.  One of the guys who joined my squad, who I did not know, started telling me how to play.  I was playing assault, as I normally do on mushtarr.  He told me I should be a medic and that I should hide an let the squad do all the fighting while I should remain a hidden spawn point for the squad.  Sure, that can be a good strat at times but I don't play normally that way and neither does anyone in my normal squad.  We all go in unless the danger is extremely high, then the SL hangs back.  He persisted "do us a favor, stay alive".  I started heading towards the Mosque and told them all where we were going, and to please stay close behind.  Unfortunately the guys did not go to the waypoint I had set (except for the squad regulars) when we ran into a full squad of 6 headed for the backyard.  We took out a few of them but the 3 of us died.  The guy complained and told me I needed to stay back.

I told him to start his own squad if he didn't like it and he left.

Fact is in most rounds you will see our squad in the top points every time with gold silver and bronze.  In short, don't join a squad, especially a squad with 3 or more sgt mjrs, and start telling others how to play the game.  If you want to play a certain way go for it, start your own squad and lead and play how you want to play.

When you have 3 stripes and you start telling a Sgt Mjr how to do things, you need to take a step back and realize that the Sgt Mjr is probably pretty damned experienced and knows what the hell he is doing.

We lock sometimes but really I don't mind it being open most of the time.  Met a lot of good guys that way.  It's the rare occasion that you get the morons.

The guy that told you to 'stay alive' has a fair point. But I would NEVER ever tell anyone how to play this game, we all have different stratagies, different ways of doing things and different opinions, but I think if I was being TOLD what to do then I just might have had to kick and lock the squad.

When I join a squad, I'll do as the leader says, it's his show, and if he's not quite with it, well, we all have the choice to create another squad..... but to join and then start shouting the odds is a no no.... especially as you say Sgt Mjrs obviously have more experience.

For his point... I have played SL and stayed back far enough from a capturable base where there was heavy enemy activity... the enemy didn't seek out where my SMs were coming from, and eventually we took the flag, and we held that flag to the bitter end.... and won the round ... but as others above have said, I like to be in the thick of it too

Of course there are certain situations that warrent SL staying back, but like I said, normally you don't have to do that.  And you are right, do what the SL says or go make your own squad.

Improvise Adapt Overcome, be fluid, your both right at times.

Rotate leader means if you die you jump out and back in again so whole squad can keep spawning Fwd ,right

Thats the most important thing

i was invited for a squad some days ago, 1st time ever, man did we rule the battlefield. Mushtar city i was flying the blackhawk, we had a medic , mechanic everything on board, didnt get shot down, and won big time. This continued for a few rounds.
In airsoft battles no one would do any good without a squad. except for skilled snipers. So i totally love getting orders and knowing im not in for a target alone. But most of the times, i dont get any orders, nobody says a word, and not much is being done.

But yes squad tactics rock big time!!!

'Mushtarr' is more annoying than 'Karkland' and 'Kirkland' and 'Kirkand'.

When i'm in a squad with smart leader I will listen to his/her orders no matter what. I feel teamwork is essential to a swift victory. When I am the leader I always give orders. Sometimes when you order your squad foward into battle say the first flag at Karkand, you be support and provide cover fire.

I hate when people join your squad and then refuse to do anything you tell them to do.  Such as I'm sitting in a tank and the squad member I don't want in there spawns on me as assault.  Now my clan buddy who is going to go engineer wants to get in, but the n00b won't get out.  I love that little lock button...

yeah great that lock button keeps out the noobs and even better it prevents real team players from having a squad. Luckily for me last night at dalling plant a whole bunch of guys joined me to have a full squad just manning the choppers for some ass whopping

NOTHING more annoying than playing with ur guys, and u leave the squad 2 relocate a new squad leader quickly so u can respawn.... then you get some random who joins your squad and doesnt raelise that is what ur doing

amen to that.

ive had silly bastards like that in my squads.

I have had abuse yelled at me ova the mik by some ova clan fuck who thought that he should be sqaud leader and reckoned he would get me kicked if i died again?!?!

i reckon we should try and get a 'KICK' option for squad leaders... dont you?
