The US has blocked the escape route of the Somalia Islamic fighters who are trapped with their backs to the sea. The Ethiopian and Somalia government forces have surrounded the Somalia Islamic fighters and are preparing a large ground and air attack. The US Navy has sent patrol boats to keep the insurgent forces from fleeing by sea.

Oddly enough we are helping the government (supported by the warlords) to oust our even greater enemy the Islamic terrorist groups. It was the warlords who shot down the Blackhawks and killed 18 SF.

Thought it was 19 (If you're talking about the events shown in Blackhawk Down).

I think we are helping because we see the Islamic terrorist as a bigger threat. Warlord only seek to occupy a small territory in a basically insignificant country. The Islamic terrorist though have a much greater agenda. They would use Somalia as a base of operations due to its plentiful supply of weapons and easy access to other militant groups in the African region.
